Before you call a business, find out what the price of your project depends on.
Here you find what makes the price of your project change, the questions to ask the business and what to check in the quote. The figure is set by the business, after seeing the job.
What the price depends on
The price also depends on the house. Here is what can make it change:
- How big the job is. The square metres to heat.
- What the house is like. How well insulated it is.
- What has to be adapted. The work can touch other parts too.
- VAT. For maintenance work on a home it is usually 10%. For some goods, such as the boiler and windows and doors, the 10% applies only to part of their value and the rest pays 22%. The Agenzia delle Entrate rule
Replacing the boiler
Besides how big the house is, the price changes if the flue needs adapting, if the radiators lack thermostatic valves, if the system needs flushing and a filter fitting.
Switching to a heat pump
What counts is the power needed, that is how big and how well insulated the house is. The price changes if a hot-water storage tank is needed, if the plumbing needs adapting, if some radiators need replacing with low-temperature models. The power is decided with a site visit.
Incentives.
The questions to ask the business
- Will you come and see the job before giving me the price?
- Will you write me a quote, item by item?
- Is dismantling and disposing of what is there now included?
- Is there anything that needs adapting? Is it included?
- For a system installation: are the declaration of conformity and the system logbook included?
- Does the work qualify for incentives? Who does the paperwork?
What to check in the quote
- What it includes, item by item. If something you need is not there, ask whether it is included or paid for separately.
- VAT. That it is written, with the rate.
- The product. Brand, model and power, or measurements and material.
- Timing and payments. When the work starts, how long it lasts, how much is paid before and how much at the end.
If one quote is much higher than another, ask the business to write item by item what it includes.
The businesses
The service is new and we work with a few businesses at a time. The form for sending a request to businesses is not active yet.
When it is active, it will work like this:
- You write what you need. In the form you see the businesses that have the service for your job and your municipality, and you yourself choose which ones to send it to, 3 at most. There is no list to browse: you see the names there, before sending.
- Kairos forwards the request only to those businesses. The quote is made by the business.
- Businesses commit to us to reply to you within 2 working days. Businesses that do not do so no longer appear in the form.
- The names appear in rotation: no business pays to be placed higher.
What we do not do
- We do not choose a business for you, not even on the phone.
- We do not make quotes: the business makes them, after seeing the job.
- We do not give your data to businesses you have not chosen.
Who pays Kairos
Businesses pay Kairos a fixed monthly fee, the same for all. None pays to be placed higher. You will be able to choose among the businesses that join the service, all with the same rules: not among all those in your municipality.
